Recently, as has been mentioned in a previous news post, creatures from
Astral and Aetherspace have been seen roaming Prime and on other planes
such as Nil. However, one creature in particular on Prime is a danger to
everybody on it. The Pyrinne, a large eyeless fish that appears to be on
fire, has been seen roaming many areas of Prime, including Ballach and
the Moors, among others places, and seems to appear randomly in
locations throughout Prime. The Pyrinne in question is not the kind
normally seen among the aetherbubbles in Aetherspace, but a gigantic
version capable of dealing out massive damage in excess of 6000 in a
single hit.
All is not lost, however. A multi-city/commune mission was launched in
which the runt Pyrinnes of Aetherspace were hunted down and given to
Girda Starhoppper of the Last Chance Trading Post. She subsequently
created a potion that, when given to the Pyrinne on Prime, visibly
weakened and shrunk it. Almost the entire party that gave the phial to
the Pyrinne was subsequently killed, including guildmasters and city and
commune leaders. However, I and many others believe that if more phials
of the potion that Girda makes is given to the Pyrinne, it will continue
to weaken and shrink, thereby making making it vanquishable.
Pleased be advised that until that time comes, it is not advisable to
initiate face to face confrontations with the Pyrinne if it can be
avoided. If you meet the Pyrinne, you should run unless you are already
deceased. More missions to the Aetherspace bubbles are planned in the
future, but until then be safe and please keep searching for Xion.
